Abstract
Diels-Alder reactions in which nitroalkenes act as dienophiles are sub stantially accelerated in 4M lithium perchlorate-nitromethane solution s. This acceleration is higher than that observed when the known 5M li thium perchlorate-diethyl ether system is used.
