Abstract
Diffusion of Cr in CoO single crystals was studied by using the X-ray microprobe technique. The diffusion coefficient of Cr thus determined exhibits the following temperature dependence in the range 1273-1673 K : [GRAPHICS] The diffusion data obtained are about one order of magnit ude higher than those determined for a polycrystalline CoO. The differ ence is considered in terms of the effect of a segregation-induced dif fusive resistance on diffusion data determined for a polycrystalline s pecimen.
