Abstract
In this interview, Dr. Kuwabara recounts his first meeting with Dr. Co gan and describes his work at the Howe Laboratory, their pioneering re search on diabetic retinopathy, histochemical and electronmicroscopica l studies. This warm recollection exemplifies the mutual respect and d eep friendship between Drs. Kuwabara and Cogan.
