EVA carrying mercapto groups (EVASH) was employed on compatibilization
of different polymer blends, like nylon-6/low density polyethylene an
d natural rubber/EVA blends. The presence of EVASH improves both elong
ation at break and ultimate tensile strength of nylon-6/LDPE blends. C
oncerning natural rubber/EVA blends, the presence of EVASH promotes al
so a better interaction between phases. The mechanical properties were
improved, mainly after ageing experiments.
