Vv. Antsiferov et al., NONLINEAR INTERFERENCE EFFECTS OF LASER PHOTOIONIZATION OF ATOMS NEAR-THE-SURFACE, Optics communications, 118(1-2), 1995, pp. 35-39
The theory is developed of electron transfers between atoms, which res
onantly interact with the coherent radiation, and the surface of the m
etal. The dependences have been established of spectral resonances of
photoabsorption and surface photoionization upon the nonlinear interfe
rence effects of the interaction between the discrete atom states and
continuum formed by the quasicontinuous electron spectrum of the norma
l metal. It has been shown that asymmetry of the resonant surface phot
oionization spectrum manifest in the form, which is rather typical of
the Fano autoionization resonance.
