Abstract
The structure of sodium peroxide octahydrate has been determined from single-crystal X-ray data and contains Na(H2O)(6)(+) octahedra, formin g chains by two different types of edge-sharing. The chains are connec ted by the peroxide ion via hydrogen bonding.
