Abstract
The compounds tetrakis(methyl isocyanide)platinum bis(hexafluorophosph ate), [Pt(CNMe)(4)](PF6)(2), and tetrakis(methyl isocyanide)palladium bis(hexafluorophosphate), [Pd(CNMe)(4)](PF6)(2), are isostructural; bo th crystallize with a tetragonal unit cell with a simple ionic packing arrangement related to that of NaCl.
