The structures of two (allyl)palladium(II) bis(oxazoline) complexes co
ntaining methylethylidene)-bis(4-benzyl-4,5-dihydrooxazole) as a chira
l ligand are reported; ene)bis(4-benzyl-4,5-dihydrooxazole)]palladium(
II) hexafluorophosphate, [Pd(C23H26N2O2)(C3H5)]PF6, and [(R,R)-2,2'-(1
-methylethylidene)bis(4-benzyl-4, ole)][eta(3)-(1,3-diphenylallyl)]pal
ladium(II) hexafluorophosphate, [Pd(C23H26N2O2)(C15H13)]PF6. Complexes
of this type are of interest as enantioselective catalysts for allyli
c substitution reactions. The structural data suggest a possible mecha
nism for the observed enantioselectivity of these catalysts.
