Abstract
The behaviour of film coating solution droplets of varying viscosity a nd momentum on uncoated and coated tablets have been determined and th e role of droplet viscosity and momentum in determining the surface ro ughness of coated tablets investigated. It is shown that the droplet v iscosity and momentum are important in governing their spreading and p enetration behaviour on uncoated and coated tablet surfaces and conseq uently the formation, appearance and properties of the film.
