Abstract
We develop a quantum theory of laser light noise in nonlinear waveguid es with thermal dielectric-function fluctuations. The laser light nois e is a manifestation of the interplay of the quantum noise, the radiat ion damping and the thermal noise. Quadrature squeezing of laser light in nonlinear waveguides shows up only at a short distance and below a threshold intensity. Increasing the incident intensity brings a trans ition from a squeezed state to a nonclassical state.
