Abstract
A class of de-free codes with minimum distance 4 which offer very simp le encoding and decoding procedures is presented. Spectral analysis sh ows that in addition to being de-free they offer strong spectral suppr ession at low frequencies. A comparison with similar codes in the lite rature shows that they provide a good compromise solution to the desig n of practically realizable, high-rate, de-free error-correcting codes with strong low frequency suppression.
