Abstract
Ice stress data collected by mercury filled sensors from two land-fast ice sites off the coast of Labrador are presented. Difficulties assoc iated with installation and the solution adopted are described. The st ress data are analyzed with respect to wind and ice temperature data o btained for the area and correlations presented. For this land-fast da ta set, the response of the principal stress was 0.3 kPa for each 1 m/ s of wind forcing and 0.6 kPa for each 1 degrees C of temperature chan ge.
