Abstract
Surgery for cataract resulting from pars plana vitrectomy combined wit h fluid/silicone oil exchange is often rewarding in terms of visual ac uity improvement. Careful choice of surgical method and suitable modif ications of standard technique reduce the incidence of serious complic ations. Per-operative posterior capsulotomy is a safe method of mainta ining a clear visual ards after ECCE.
