For the purpose of developing water soluble polymers having excellent
cement dispersing capability, comb-like methacrylic graft copolymers w
ith oligooxyethylene chains as the graft chains, and carboxyl and sulf
onic acid groups as functional groups were prepared with sodium methal
lylsulfonate as molecular weight control agent in aqueous solution. Th
e copolymer comprising of six kinds of specified monomers with a suita
ble molecular weight and an adequate molar balance of the functional g
roups showed excellent cement dispersing capability.
