Abstract
A method of evaluating high resolution absorption coefficients for the purpose of integrating the radiative transfer equation is described. The method uses a two-dimensional interpolation scheme which operates on a table of pre-computed absorption coefficients. Computation time f or the evaluation of the RT equation is significantly reduced whilst a chieving accuracy comparable to conventional line-by-line methods.
