A phosphomolybdic anion-doped poly(5-amino-1-naphthol) [poly(5-NH2-1-N
AP)/PMo12] has been prepared by electrochemical polymerization of 5-am
ino-1-naphthol in aqueous 0.5 M H2SO4 containing PMo12O403- anions. Th
e doped films were characterized by in situ FTIR spectroscopy and XPS
analysis. The film-coated electrode was very stable upon potential cyc
ling in acid; its catalytic effect on the reduction of chlorate anions
