Abstract
A phage recovery technique is described that is shown to be easy to pe rform and sensitive. It is efficient in defecting somatic coliphages i n mussels artificially contaminated, even at very low levels. Good res ults are also reported for detection and enumeration of naturally occu rring coliphages in mussels and cockles from the French Atlantic coast .
