Abstract
This paper discusses questions of the design of overlay photometers fo r diffuse and mixed reflection with pulsed radiation sources. The ener gy is calculated, the structural layout of the photometer is presented , and recommendations are made for choosing the measurement geometry, the source, and the radiation detector as a function of the measuremen t error.
