INFLUENCES ON THE RISK AND COURSE OF SUBSTANCE USE AND ABUSE IN ADOLESCENTS

Advances in the understanding of risk factors and other influences on adolescent substance use, abuse, and related behaviors are reviewed. A mong the areas for discussion are family and peer influences, psychopa thology, temperament, suicidal behavior, drug use and trafficking in t he context of inner-city, African-American youths, and recent preventi on interventions.
