Heterodyne frequency measurements, accurate to 20 kHz, of 35 lines of
the 00(0)2-[10(0)1,02(0)1](I) band (10.4 mu m) and 33 lines of the 00(
0)2-[10(0)1,02(0)1](II) band (9.4 mu m) of CO2 have been made with a s
equence band CO2 laser stabilized to line center using the sub-Doppler
4.3-mu m fluorescence. A saturated 4.3-mu m fluorescence-stabilized r
egular band CO2 laser was used as the frequency reference for the hete
rodyne measurements. New molecular constants were obtained from a leas
t-squares fitting of these new measurements and the previous measureme
nts. Calculated frequency and wavenumber tables for CO2 sequence band
transitions using the new constants are presented. Frequencies of the
transitions from the ground state to the 00(0)2, [10(0)1,02(0)1](I), a
nd [10(0)1,02(0)1](II) levels have been accurately determined to an ac
curacy of 0.2 MHz by adding the sub-Doppler heterodyne frequency measu
rements of the [10(0)1,02(0)1](I)-00(0)0 transitions made by A. Groh,
D. Goddon, M. Schneider, W. Zimmerman, and W. Ubran (J. Mel. Spectrosc
