Abstract
We present a model for an atom laser. A thermal beam of Lambda atoms t unnels in through one end of a trap, in which the atoms are subject to dark-state cooling. The ground mode of the trap becomes macroscopical ly populated. The beam which tunnels out is approximately all-order co herent.
