We report a case of pulmonary hypoplasia associated with renal agenesi
a diagnosed in a 46-year-old woman admitted to hospital because of a v
iral pleuro-pericarditis. The chest xray raised the suspicion of left
pulmonary hypolasia. The CT scan and the Magnetic Resonance Image conf
irmed the presence of the congenital lung malformation and detected th
e absence of the left kidney. The clinical presentation, radiological
diagnosis and embryological basis are described.
