Abstract
The b(1) Sigma(g)(+)(bO(g)(+)) --> X(3) Sigma(g)(-)(X(2)1(g)) system o f Se-80(2) has been observed from a discharge flow system where Se-2(b O(g)(+)) molecules were excited by electronic energy transfer from met astable oxygen, O-2(alpha'Delta(g)), to ground state Se-2. Emission sp ectra of the 0-0, 0-1, 0-2, 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, and 2-3 bands have been rec orded at high resolution with a Bomem Fourier-transform spectrometer. The rotational structures of the bands are determined by magnetic dipo le selection rules. Detailed analysis has yielded accurate molecular c onstants for the bO(g)(+) and X(2)1(g) states of Se-80(2).
