Abstract
A review of the Indo-West Pacific sciaenid genus, Panna, revealed P. m icrodon (Bleeker), formerly thought to be widespread in the Indo-West Pacific, to be restricted to the Western Pacific. P. heterolepis Trewa vas, formerly known only from the holotype from Calcutta, was resurrec ted as the sole representative of the genus in the Indian Ocean, where it had long been misidentified as P. microdon. Sciaenoides perarmatus Chabanaud, transferred to Otolithoides by Trewavas (1977), was recogn ized as the third species of Panna.
