Abstract
A treatment of the Bodner-Partom erastic-viscoplastic constitutive equ ations which includes the consideration of the stored energy of cold w ork (SECW) from a thermodynamic point of view is developed. It is assu med that the SECW can be expressed entirely as a function of the isotr opic and directional hardening variables of the constitutive theory. S imulations are performed corresponding to available test data of Halfo rd on changes in SECW of annealed copper during cyclic loading. These simulations indicate a fairly good agreement with the original data.
