A quasistatic analysis and a full-wave analysis are presented to study
the coupling between two microstrip lines crossing orthogonally above
a ground plane in a multilayered dielectric substrate. The quasistati
c approach is based on the space domain integral equation method, modi
fied to easily take into account the multilayered media. For the full-
wave analysis, the method of moments is used, in the spectral domain,
to find the currents on the strips and to directly determine the scatt
ering parameters. A typical structure is chosen to compare the two met
hods.
