T. Kajitani et al., ORIENTATION IN UNIAXIALLY DRAWN POLYSTYRENE PLASTICIZED BY CO2 SORPTION, Journal of applied polymer science, 57(5), 1995, pp. 587-590
Uniaxial drawing experiments of the polystyrene films plasticized by a
sorption of compressed CO2 gas at pressures up to about 18 MPa were c
arried out with strain rates epsilon of 0.0290 and 0.0079 s(-1). The d
rawing was performed successfully with draw ratio lambda up to 4 at th
e temperatures of 308.15, 318.15, 328.15, and 338.15 K. The Hermans or
ientation function f of the drawn samples was determined from the dich
roic ratio measured by an infrared spectrophotometer. While f value in
creases with increasing epsilon or lambda, it decreases with increasin
g CO2 pressure or temperature. (C) 1995 John Wiley and Sons, Inc.
