Abstract
Three sunflower mitochondrial HindIII restriction fragments containing the tRNA genes trnl, trnE and trnfM have been sequenced. The genes ar e present in single copy on the whole genome and are transcribed. Hybr idization experiments and sequence analysis of the HindIII fragments a llowed the precise mapping and orientation of each gene on the sunflow er mitochondrial genome.
