Jr. Peterson et al., ANTIFUNGAL COPYRINE ALKALOIDS - CRYSTAL-STRUCTURE OF 3-METHYLSAMPANGINE, Journal of chemical crystallography, 25(5), 1995, pp. 223-226
3-Methylsampangine, C16H10N2O, crystallizes in the monoclinic space gr
oup P2(1)/c with a = 7.260(3), b = 10.697(5), c = 15.342(6) Angstrom,
and beta = 102.69(4). All nonhydrogen atoms of this potent antifungal
agent are planar to within 0.082 Angstrom. The title compound exhibits
potent in vitro antifungal activity against C. neoformans, C. albican
s and A. fumigatus.
