Abstract
The mass transfer and pressure drop characteristics of a number of tur bulence promoters and three-dimensional electrodes incorporated in an FM01-LC laboratory electrolyser have been investigated. Dimensionless correlations were obtained from limiting current measurements for the reduction of potassium ferricyanide in 1 M KOH and these were compared with results from similar electrochemical reactors in the literature. The performance of the turbulence promoters and three dimensional ele ctrodes in terms of the pressure drop and associated friction factors has been compared with literature data.
