Abstract
The rate of paraffin deposition of Bombay High crude oil and a paraffi n wax solution under flowing condition in a horizontal pipe has been d etermined in order to study the nature and type of the successive para ffin deposits and their influence on the cold flow properties of the c rude oil and of the paraffin wax solution in toluene. It has been obse rved that for both the crude oil and the wax solution, there exist a c ritical concentration of wax beyond which further increase in concentr ation does not have any appreciable effect on the pour point of the re spective fluids as well as on the quantity and nature of the paraffin deposits.
