Mjpf. Ritt et al., THE GROSS AND HISTOLOGIC ANATOMY OF THE LIGAMENTS OF THE CAPITOHAMATEJOINT, The Journal of hand surgery, 21A(6), 1996, pp. 1022-1028
The capitohamate (CH) joint was studied with the use of 11 dissected a
dult cadaver wrists, 3 serially sectioned adult cadaver wrists, and 3
serially sectioned fetal wrists. Three CH interosseous ligaments were
clearly identified: the dorsal, deep, and palmar interosseous ligament
s. In addition, the unique longitudinal interosseous ligament is descr
ibed in detail. Previously not described are the anterior interconnect
ing bands, which originate from the palmar interosseous ligament and h
ave their insertion at the interosseous recess between capitate and ha
mate. Morphologic data of the most important osseous and ligamentous s
tructures is provided.
