The mutual influences of rock salt and Na-Al phosphate glass containin
g high-level waste components during their prolonged contact is experi
mentally studied. Leaching measurements of Cs-137 and (154)EU demonstr
ate that the outer glass layer remains essentially unchanged and stabl
e. The mass-transfer diffusion rare of the radionuclides into the rock
salt from the glass is <25.3 mm/year.
