F. Malik et al., MICROBIOLOGICAL AND CULTIVATION PROPERTIES OF WINE YEASTS SACCHAROMYCES-CEREVISIAE OF THE FV SERIES, BIOLOGIA, 51(6), 1996, pp. 629-634
The present study is a contribution to the better knowledge of the lif
e of ethanol tolerant yeast strains isolated from secondary habitats i
n Slovakia. Microbiological and cultivation properties of wine yeasts
S. cerevisiae FV 1 to FV 5 were evaluated. Microscopic properties of p
articular wine yeast strains (size, shape, cell balance, pseudomyceliu
m type, sporulation activity and qualitative representation of 3 to 4
spore asci) were, with minor deviations, mutually similar. Characteris
tics of cultivation were identical in all five strains. During growth
none of the strains showed ring or film formation. Some differences we
re observed in the morphology of macrocolonies, diameter, type of the
macrocolony, shape, margin and profile.
