Abstract
ZrB2 coatings having different microstructures and produced by CVD on graphite wafers were submitted to high radiative flux densities at the focus of a solar concentrator. The chemical and morphological effects are described. It is concluded that such coatings possess high resist ance to thermal shock but must be protected from oxygen at temperature s higher than 1100 degrees C.
