Abstract
Capillary gas chromatography (CGC) was employed for qualitative and qu antitative analysis of exhaustively-O-acetylated polyols in human cere brospinal fluid (CSF). Apart from 1,5-anhydroglucitol its 1,4-anhydro isomer was detected. For quantitative and qualitative determination of the selected polyol compounds in human CSF pentaerythritol was used a s a standard. Elevation of some polyols in the CSF of patients with MS and Alzheimer disease was noted.
