J. Madaj et al., CAPILLARY GC DETERMINATION OF SUGARS AND POLYOLS IN HUMAN CEREBROSPINAL-FLUID, Polish Journal of Chemistry, 69(7), 1995, pp. 1036-1038
Capillary gas chromatography (CGC) was employed for qualitative and qu
antitative analysis of exhaustively-O-acetylated polyols in human cere
brospinal fluid (CSF). Apart from 1,5-anhydroglucitol its 1,4-anhydro
isomer was detected. For quantitative and qualitative determination of
the selected polyol compounds in human CSF pentaerythritol was used a
s a standard. Elevation of some polyols in the CSF of patients with MS
and Alzheimer disease was noted.
