Abstract
Lattice Boltzmann (LBE) methods are employed to consider the effect of 2D velocity shear turbulence on the evolution of a sharp temperature gradient profile. The major advantages of the LEE approach over more c onventional simulation techniques are that it is readily extended to 3 D and can handle realistic geometries without loosing its computationa l strength - extreme efficiency on multi-parallel processors.
