Abstract
5'-Epi-bicyclothymidine and oligodeoxynucleotides thereof were prepare d using solid phase phosphoramidite chemistry. W-melting curves with c omplementary DNA and RNA furnish values of Delta T-m/mod. of -2.7 degr ees to -6.5 degrees C compared to the natural reference system. The re duction of pairing affinity can directly be correlated with a change o f the orientation of the C(4')-C(5') bond in the duplexes.
