A PHYLOGENETIC REVIEW OF THE POTAMOBATES FAUNA OF COLOMBIA (HETEROPTERA, GERRIDAE), WITH DESCRIPTIONS OF 3 NEW SPECIES

Three new species of Potamobates are described from Colombia and surro unding regions: P. manzanoae n. sp. from the Rio Anchicaya drainage in Valle de Cauca Province; P. anchicaya n. sp. from the Rio Anchicaya a rea and Panama; and P. carvalhoi n. sp. from the Rio Claro in Antioqui a Province, and Venezuela. These new species are compared with other p reviously described taxa in the genus, and a set of phylogenetically i nferred intrageneric species groupings is proposed, accompanied by a k ey and checklist for all known species, and a species level phylogeny. Distribution maps are provided for species occurring in Colombia, and country-level distributional data are given for all other known speci es.
