Abstract
The sulfonyl groups around ubstituted-2,3,5,6-tetrakis(alkylsulfonyl)b enzenes adopt an altering orientation and the ring is highly twisted, with external torsion angles (S-C-ar-C-ar-S) of 46 degrees and interna l torsion angles(C-ar-C-ar-CarCar) of 23 degrees.
