Abstract
Reaction of ArP=PNR(2) (Ar* = 2,4,6-Bu(3)(t)C(6)H(2)) with CF3SO3H in the presence of triphenylphosphane in CH2Cl2 produces the isolable sa lt [ArPP(PPh(3))](+) [CF3SO3](-) which is characterized by X-ray crys tallography; the triphenylphosphane ligand of [ArPP(PPh(3))](+) readi ly participates in nucleophilic substitution reactions affording a nov el entry to donor-stabilized phosphanetriylphosphonium cations and P-f unctionalized diphosphenes.
