Abstract
The purpose of the present work is the spectroscopic study at room tem perature and ambient pressure of two compounds (C9H19NH3)(2)MCl(4) wit h M = Cd (cadmium) and Pb (lead). Only a brief summary of the calorime tric and x-ray diffraction results will be given. In this paper we hav e applied two complementary techniques, Raman scattering and infrared absorption spectroscopies. The Raman and infrared spectra of the phase at room temperature and ambient pressure of (C9H19NH3)(2)CdCl4 will b e analyzed by comparison with those of (C10H21NH3)(2)CdCl4. Then the a ssignment of the spectra of (C9H19NH3)(2)PhCl(4) will be established b y comparison with the spectra of (C9H19NH3)(2)CdCl4.
