Abstract
The present study intends to cast some light upon the performance of C eramic parts ground with diamond and to determine the extent of improv ement possible by an adapted finishing process. From the analysis of m aterial removal in grinding a model was derived which predicts the sta te of stress in the machined surface and thus the likely behavior of p arts in service.
