J. Varga et L. Bezur, NEW APPLICATIONS OF THE THERMO-AAS METHOD - ESTIMATION OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL-HAZARD CAUSED BY HEAVY-ELEMENTS CONCERNING AIR-POLLUTION ABATEMENT, Microchemical journal, 51(3), 1995, pp. 331-336
The direct thermo-AAS method using a graphite or quartz-lined graphite
sample cup and a hydrogen-argon or acetylene-air flame was used in th
e evaluation of the volatility of metals from complex matrices in the
temperature range 50-2000 degrees C. The thermo-AAS principle was empl
oyed to solve problems related to toxic metal emission from high-tempe
rature technologies. The volatility of tin in PVC matrix, cadmium in s
ewage sludge, thallium in cement technology, and lead in pigment is di
scussed in parallel with reference measurements. (C) 1995 Academic Pre
