Abstract
An experimental was conducted during the rainy season of 1988 and 1989 to find out the effect of sowing date and inter-row spacing on yield of redgram or pigeonpea [Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp.] varieties. Sowing on 1 June gave the highest yield, and delayed sowings reduced the gra in yield significantly. 'Manak' redgram was found the highest yielder and suitable for both early and late sowings compared with the other v arieties. Inter-row spacing of 30 cm was found suitable for early-dura tion varieties.
