Abstract
The effect of phosphorus and nitrogen ligands on the CuCl catalysed re action of ethylisocyanate with an ergoline carboxamide has been studie d. Phosphorus ligands afford chemoselectively the desired compound, wh ile nitrogen ligands revert the observed selectivity. The use of phosp horus and nitrogen ligands is a novel and mild method for the Cu(I) sa lts catalyzed carbamoylation by alkylisocyanates.
