Abstract
The reaction between methyl S-prolinate and meso-norbornene derived an hydrides was found to give amido-acids with excellent asymmetric induc tion. This methodology provides an inexpensive route for the preparati on of optically pure, polycyclic, highly functionalised starting mater ials for natural and unnatural product synthesis on a large scale.
