Abstract
During the period March 1993 to March 1994, 679 red foxes from the dis trict of Tubingen were examined for infection with Echinococcus multil ocularis; 44.8% were found to be infected. Compared with previous stud ies in the region the results indicate a marked increase in the preval ence. The reasons for this are discussed.
