Abstract
'Runway malaria' is a clinical entity first described in 1990(1) and r
efers to a patient who has contracted malaria, in whom the only possib
le exposure has been when the aircraft in which they were travelling h
as landed transiently in a malarious zone. We describe such a case in
a British Serviceman travelling from the South Atlantic to Germany, wh
o acquired malaria in West Africa.
