Li. Titomir, RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN MEASURING TECHNIQUES AND DIAGNOSTIC INTERPRETATION OF THE HEARTS ELECTRIC-FIELD (REVIEW), Instruments and experimental techniques, 38(1), 1995, pp. 1-4
This is a brief review of the reports at the 21st International Congre
ss on Electrocardiology (June 3-7, Yokohama, Japan) at which topics bo
th experimental and theoretical concerning the measurement and interpr
etation of the electric potentials of the heart and related problems w
ere discussed. Beside the numerous reports concerning clinical studies
of the electric changes in both normal and diseased hearts, some crit
ical reviews were presented. Recent results concerning the subtle mech
anisms of the genesis of the extracellular cardiac electric field were
reported, and assessments were made of noninvasive methods for detect
ing electrophysiological. functions and the states of the heart and th
eir clinical applications.
